Congratulations to all, we know that you'll do great things next year!

To meet your new officers and say goodbye to your outgoing officers, we'll be hosting an end-of-the-year ice cream social TODAY 5/25 from 4:30 - 5:30 at Grieg Garden (right between the HUB and Thomson)! Come join for festivities and FREE ICE CREAM!!!

Jessica Gianopulos
President
Jessica is an MCD biology major and is interested in continuing a career in research. Some of her hobbies are dancing, hiking, and reading. She is excited to work with everyone this next year and continue Tribeta's legacy. 

Lexus Pina
Secretary

Lexus is an MCD biology major with dreams of becoming a pediatrician. She is currently a tutor for student-athletes at UW, her spirit animal is a house cat, her favorite food is a hamburger, and she loves to read fiction books!

Treasurer

Ann is an upcoming senior majoring in Biology - Physiology. She was born and raised in Seattle. Outside of biology she also enjoys learning statistics and psychology. In her free time, you can find her wasting time on Netflix, doing arts & crafts and sleeping. She look forward to being your treasurer for the next year.

Garrett Britt
Vice President of Advertising

Garrett is a biochemistry major interested in pursuing medicine. During his free time, he enjoys fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and just being outdoors in general.

Vice President of Communications

Sonja is a sophomore majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. She is hoping to use her undergraduate Biology degree to pursue a career in medicine and public health. In her free time, she really enjoys running, reading, cooking and eating food, and as a non-native Washingtonian she loves exploring Seattle with friends. She is super excited to serve as the VP of Communications because she gets to share all the amazing events and opportunities we put on with members of TriBeta.

Vice President of Events

Kristen is a senior majoring in General Biology and a member of UW Alpha Omega Chi. After a year in TriBeta, Kristen is excited to create more events and further build the biology community!

Lucas Cary
Vice President of Meetings

Lucas is a senior majoring in Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology. He has spent two years in undergraduate research and is passionate about getting the next generation of scientists started in Biology. In his free time, he likes to hang out with his dog, Scout, and play for the UW Club Hockey Team. He is looking forward to another great year of Tribeta!

Elizabeth Glenski
Vice President of Membership

Elizabeth is a junior majoring in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology. She is excited to work with the TriBeta officers next year to help make our club the best it can be. A few fun facts about her is that her favorite animal is an elephant, she considers ice cream its own food group, and she love tulips.

Margaret Slack
Vice President of Tutoring
Margaret is a rising senior majoring in General Biology.  She has volunteered as a Tri Beta tutor for a year and peer-facilitated BIOL 200 under Dr. Wiggin's supervision.  She worked for and traveled with the UW football team for 2 years, and also works in UWMC's McKnight Pharmacology lab.

T-Shirt Design Competition

Now it's your chance to create a t-shirt design that could be featured in next year's biology apparel! TriBeta is hosting our annual t-shirt design competition, requirements are listed above in our flyer! Not only will the winner of the competition get to have their design printed on TriBeta t-shirts, they will get their t-shirt free! Design should be submitted no later than April 14th by 5pm. Get creative, and have a great spring break!

Congratulations to Ali Alderson, our January Member of the Month! Ali is being recognized for her enthusiasm and dedication to Tribeta. Ali joined TriBeta because she wanted to be part of a group that is passionate about biology. She loves the invaluable opportunities for networking and how it helps her succeed both in and out of the academic setting. Besides studying physiology, she is part of the Delta Zeta Sorority and a volunteer in the ER at Harborview Medical Center!

Pre-orders are back!!! We offer a long sleeve for $25, a crew neck for $40, and the zip up hoody for $40. These shirts are make in the USA by American apparel so by ordering you are supporting jobs in America and you know where your product is coming from. Pre-Oder forms can be dropped off at the UW biology advising office with cash or a check. Pre-orders are due Friday, February 10th at 3pm. Click on the file below to access the order form.

Tribeta Blood Drive

UW Food Pantry

The UW Food Pantry aims to address student, staff, and faculty food insecurity at UW head on. This is a safe space operated by students to allow those with food insecurities to obtain necessities. Please consider donating! Even one item can make a huge difference. The UW Food Pantry currently accepts nonperishable items, toiletries, and monetary donations. Donations can be dropped of at the Ethnic Cultural Center. The next Pantry day is December 6th at the HUB in room 214. More information can be found on the Facebook page, as well as contacting uwpantry@uw.edu.

Congratulations to Nicholas Stotter, our October Member of the Month! Nicholas is being recognized for his enthusiasm and dedication to Tribeta. Nicholas joined TriBeta because he wanted to be part of a community that is as passionate about biology as he is. Besides studying MCD biology, he is also part of the archery club and undergraduate theater society. A fun fact about Nicholas is that he has donated blood/platelets almost 40 times!
