Meet your 2018-2019 TriBeta Officers:
President, Marlowe Keller: I am a senior majoring in MCB Biology with a minor in English Writing. In my free time, I assist Dr. Scott Freeman in his research in STEM education and work in the Ghajar Lab at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and exploring Seattle with my friends.
VP of Tutoring, Hank Cheng: Hello! My name is Hank and I will be a senior next year and am majoring in MCD Biology with a minor in Applied Math. I have tutored for TriBeta for over a year and am excited to be an officer for TriBeta. A fun fact about me is that I used to live in Madison, Wisconsin (aka “the other UW”). When I’m not busy doing pre-med related activities, I like to cook, bike around campus, and come up with Biology jokes and puns.
VP, Amanda Gardiner: I am an incoming senior in the fall and am majoring in Biochemistry, Biological Oceanography, and English Creative Writing with minors in Marine Biology and Paleobiology. After graduating I hope to pursue a PhD in Shark Ethology and Physiology with a focus on conservation. When not studying I volunteer at the Burke Museum, Seattle Aquarium, and as a responder for the Marine Mammal Stranding Network. I blame Walking With Dinosaurs and Blue Planet for determining my career path at a young age.
VP, Fanqi Chi: I am a junior major in MCD Biology and currently working as an undergraduate researcher in Noss Lab that locates in UW Medical Center at South Lake Union. The project that I am working on is trying to understand the genetic risk alleles that contribute to the abnormal inflammation response of the knees, also known as arthritis. I am also a facilitator at FIUTS and a tutor for tribeta. In my free time, I love watching movies, hanging out with friends and face timing my dog who is back in China.
VP, Lisa Young: I'm Lisa, a junior majoring in MCD Biology! I am interested in going into family medicine in the future. When I'm not overloaded with school work, I love going hiking, baking, and exploring Seattle!
