April Member of the Month:
Carly Sprague
Originally from Bothell, Washington, Carly is a senior pursuing a double degree in MCD Biology and French. She transferred in to UW as a junior after attending Wellesley College where she worked in a yeast lab studying cell division. While at UW, she studied abroad on the Paris Summer Program and was a peer facilitator for BIOL 455. After I graduate this summer, she will be going to Nantes, France as part of their TAPIF program to be an assistant English teacher for a school year! She is especially interested in cellular biology and immunology research and, following TAPIF, hopes to work as a lab tech and apply to graduate school.

February Member of the Month
Congratulations to our February Member of the Month, Samantha Hartogs, a senior majoring in Biology and also minoring in Education, Learning & Societies.She works in a research lab on campus studying the evolutionary development of flowers and different types of pollination. She is working towards a career teaching middle or high school biology because she loves working with kids. She has worked as a camp counselor at science camps every summer since high school. In her free time she likes exploring Seattle and getting outside to see the diversity of the PNW flora.
